Welcome to the Irish Society of Kentuckiana!

The Irish Society of Kentuckiana, a 501(c)(3), has been present in the Greater Louisville area for over 33 years. Formerly known as “The Sons and Daughters of Erin”, we became the “Irish Society of Kentuckiana, Inc.” on the 17th of May, 2002.

The Irish Society of Kentuckiana was established to promote Irish Heritage, Culture and Friendship. It is a nonprofit organization, enriching the cultural lives of members of the Kentuckiana area. The Society offers exposure to Irish heritage, and preserves, enhances and fosters pride in our Irish ancestry.

In addition to many local and regional activities that it sponsors, the society collaborates with other Irish groups and has national and global affiliations with other Irish organizations.

The Irish Society of Kentuckiana, Inc. is a non-sectarian organization. There is no religious affiliation.

If you like the sound of an Irish fiddle, enjoy watching Irish dancers, curious about your family’s Irish ancestry, or want to explore the Irish culture, then the Irish Society of Kentuckiana is for you. There are no age limits, and the Society is accessible to people of all nationalities.

We also welcome corporate memberships.

Heritage Fund

The Irish Society of Kentuckiana has established the Heritage Fund to support efforts to pursue:

  1. Studies of Irish culture, such as music, art, dancing, or language;

  2. Educational programs and projects that further the understanding of Irish culture; and,

  3. Special projects recommended by the Heritage Committee.

Monthly Meeting

We invite you to join us!

Louisville has a rich Irish history: tradition, culture, dance, music, sport, and of course food and drink. If it is even a wee bit Irish, you can bet our members are involved. Check out our upcoming events and join us for great craic! (That’s Irish for fun)

We Always welcome new members. If you are interested in Ireland or the Irish in any way we invite you to join us.

General membership meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm at the Commonwealth Bank and Trust Company in St. Matthews.
